I am a massive WW2 geek and in my eyes this was a huge disappointment and the main reason for that is if anyone knows the history of Dunkirk then they know there was more to it than just the evacuation on the beach. Christoper Nolan describes this film "battling German Forces" but where exactly where they all apart from the one or two German pilots in the air bombing the soldiers on the beach, there was no German Tanks or any other sort of German vehicle in the film that the British and French Soldiers were up against. Don't get me wrong I did love that they remember the ones who fought at Dunkirk and the ones who risked their lives to save as many British and French soldiers but what about the 51st Highland Division and many other units who were at the perimeter of Dunkirk holding back German Infantry, tanks so that there fellow soldiers could escape on the boats what about them who sacrificed their lives as this is one of the main key events of Dunkirk cause if it wasn't for them the whole British Army would have been captured or wiped out. Am not telling ones not to watch it but before you do please read up on the history of it and then you will understand what I mean.
