I have read this series at least 5 times. If you haven't read the books you may like this TV show. Anyone who claims that they have read the series, or is a fan of the books and loves the TV series is likely being paid to write a positive review or has some other agenda. Amazon's adaption or more accurately "reimagining" of The Wheel of Time (WoT) is clearly an attempt to appeal to a broader audience. Generally, when books are adapted for the screen they take out the less important characters or parts of the story to fit the alotted screen time. Amazon's WoT version adds more characters and additional story lines. It's the soap opera version of the books. They've added sex scenes where there are none. Hot tub scene with Moraine and Lan, not in the book. Graphic and psychopathic violence by the White Cloaks. Perrin was not married at the beginning of the story and therefore didn't kill his wife.Mat Cauthon did not come from a broken home with an alcoholic mother. He also was not a thief and compulsive gambler. In the book he is introduced as a young likable pankster who is frequently getting into mischief.Nynaeve and Egwene are not ever considered Taveren or the Dragon Reborn in the books. The deviations from the books are too numerous to mention. If you are a fantasy fan just read the books. You won't be disappointed. If you haven't read the books and you like the TV show, just keep watching. If you want to read the books afterwards just remember the characters development and roles are dramatically different.
