Jake Uplift

I understand what they were trying to do with this movie but it was hard to watch. The only good part was the ending. The amount of racism and insult to people, race, and religion was ridiculous. I love Eddie and Jonah but this was a really bad movie. Besides the few moments of comedy and love it was not worth it. I would not recommend.

NO SPOILERS I want to preface by saying if this was a TV show of its own I would rate it a 4/5 stars but it’s not. To start, the casting is bad in my opinion. It’s one thing to base it off the game and try to stay canon but to then change it completely and try and make it “progressive”. Changing peoples characters from their favorite game or show is frustrating. Second, the time jumps, rushing and packing too much into episodes, and completely making stuff up is wrong for the audience and the fans. Important scenes were completely skipped over, and because of this the audience doesn’t get the full development of the relationship between Joel and Ellie along with others that I will not say to stop spoilers. If the show wanted to be in the same world but independent I would be 100% supportive but it’s not. All it did was take something important to a lot of fans and turn it into a mess. Key character development just looked over. Too much time spent on other side characters and rushed interactions. The acting was great by Pedro and Bella but if they wanted canon they definitely missed the mark. I really love TLOU but they made a mess of what was supposed to be great for the fan base. And to top it off the multiple accounts of bad reviews being deleted is beyond unacceptable. I hope they do better in the future. I appreciate the effort and am glad the show does exist I just expected better, much better.
