A tasteless, political propaganda hit piece that aims to canonize Comey as a patriotic hero built on high standards of morals and unflappable integrity. Also based on a story written by Comey himself. An American hero with the weight of the world on his shoulders surrounded with a team of top notch G-men unseen since the days of "The Untouchables" ... the blatant lie it was.
The film aslo forgets that we have already been made aware of the Muller Report and the extent of lies that have been uncovered within the farce of an investigation against Flynn and the Trump administration.
As though the public hasn't been introduced to Trump beforehand, he is reduced to a characature of a mustache twirling villain whose sole motivations are steeped in vanity and mischief. Is he brash? Yes. Is he emboldened? Yes. Has he been questionable? Definitely. But he isn't some unknown that was just introduced to the world before he decided to run for presidency.
Funny how Trump was a relatively liked man before he ran for office. Most people didn't take him seriously enough to be offended by his presence. He was a shrewd business man. Well educated. And charitable in certain ways. Now he is framed as a stingy racist who is the champion of white supremacy. His words often taken out of context. And the media playing the greatest hits of choppily edited clips. And this film aims to further discredit his character whilst propping Comey on a pedestal. A corrupt pompous criminal who has had his career exposed. And for those who don't believe, research it.
The audacity of Showtime to produce and air this film is what's most astonishing. Clearly the timing of its release was with the intent of swaying the collective in their political views just before the presidential debates.
This comes from someone who has never particularly been a fan of Trump. But the truth is the truth. Right is right. Wrong is wrong. And lies are too often immortalized as the truth. Don't be swayed by this 2 part film. If you are going to watch, watch it it as fictitious melodrama that it is.
