The structure of the novel is a bit like Russian doll, stories within stories within a greater story. It is evident that this was the author's goal. However, there are gaps in the overarching narrative frame of the novel which make the ending quite disappointing. But that's not why this book deserves 2 stars. The character development is flat at best, and silently mysoginistic at worst. This is the XXI century, why are women still written in this way?
