I am a Pratchet fan and I could quite like this (despite it being so different to the books) except that the Vimes character is so annoying..a missed opportunity and guaranteed to alienate a lot of potential fans. I think the other characters do retain some of the essence of the Pratchet originals and the series develops them in entertaining ways, but Vimes just doesn't work for me
