THE MANY SAINTS OF NEWARK: A “NOT SO” SOPRANOS STORY
Like many fans of the Sopranos TV series, I was disappointed in the unfocused storytelling, the character development and the unfocused transitions from scene-to-scene.
Expecting (or hoping for) a story line with a moral and emotional bent that provided some insight into the influences and experiences that turned Tony Soprano into a popular icon, we were treated to a mish mash of loosely connected scenes that did not connect to a central theme.
The gratuitous inclusion of characters such as Paulie Gualtieri, Junior Soprano and Silvio Dante was a lame attempt to connect the movie to the TV series without the purpose ofsupporting a central theme.
The Many Saints of Newark was not a Sopranos Story…….. but rather Multisanti gabagool.
