The original was far better. The movie is rife with nonsensical over-acting by the supporting cast. Akshay Kumar effortlessly nails the role of a transgender and carries the entire film on his shoulders, which eventually crumbles owing to poor screenplay coupled with superfluous undertones and banal story telling. The masala content is there along with some jump scares and Akshay's comic timing is impeccable, but ultimately the film feels being unnecessarily dragged on. A slow paced, trite first half does more harm than settig up an exciting build up. By the end, one feels pretty tired having gone through the repetitive cliched masala filled second half.. All in all, definitely not worth watching and parting away with 2.5 hrs of precious time... Stream any miniseries instead, or better watch the original twice. xD.
