First time reviewing any show or movie for that matter. I watched it after reading that PRESIDENT MACRON is fighting to keep this show in paris. Worst webseries. Regret wasting my precious time. I'm not a french & I felt that french culture is worse after watching this show. Hope french are not liking ot either. It's a blatant insult to their country & culture. Stereotypes which this show try to perpetuate in me after watching this show : 1. French and more precisely Parisians are rude and selfish. 2. They sleep with anyone they meet even while walking on a road. 3. Their philosophy of love,maariage,family is all messed up. 4. Toxic feminity shown. Eg. Mindy can dance & sing naked rather than accepting money from her boyfriend. And she expects all the compromises & adjustments from her boyfriend only ratger than making any of it herself. Eg. Told her boyfriend can't stop dancing naked that too with her ex since it was her long pending dream and her career & her band is top priority for her. But later in S4 gets ready to leave everything to get settled in Rome with Emily. Like where is her career now? 5. All characters are so confused and messed up. Gabriel already had a girlfriend still fell for a girl . It was just back and forth happening like a pendulum clock. Sometimes, Gabriel and Emily together and sometimes Gabriel and her girlfriend. 6. Emily choose the wrong guy. She didnt side with Alfie who left his job and stayed in Paris for her. Rather she decided to be naive and go with a man with messed up love life. 7. Honestly, everyone praising Gabriel. But Gabriel and her girldriend were together for more than 7 years. What kind of love it was that a girl from America blew him & his first love jumped out of the window. 8 I haven't mentioned other toxic characters like sylive who is just walking & banging around french men one after the other even being married. It could be her life but still such stereotypes shouldn't be portrayed while showcasing a specific culture. It creates a particular image of a place. World is a big place & all of us have different tastes. But love is the biggest force of all. Unfortunately, all the characters in this show are mad for lust & label it as love. Their idea of love is purely on sexual lines. Eg. Gabriel and Emily discussed & remembered their first night so much. But at the end they were using sexual parameters to set their relationship. It is an important basis of any relationship ofcourse but never the sole basis. Rest everyone is free to watch this web series from their own lenses. But to sum up, I found it ; Messy Time wasting Toxic feminity promoting Normalising having mutliple affairs at the same time, married and even then having lots of sexual relations with strangers, clients etc etc. I hope French culture is far above and beyond this .
