i’m torn!!! it’s soooo well written but sooooo freaking inappropriate! wavy’s mind and her thoughts are so beautifully and hauntingly intricate. that’s what keeps me from putting the book down (i’m about half way through) but her relationship with kellen just keeps getting more intense/romantic and farther away from the comforting parental father figure she needs right now! i’m enjoying reading this book it’s a page turner for sure but i get so grossed out when i put myself in her place... i keep imagining 13 year old me with a 26 year old boyfriend and it makes me queasy... maybe that was the author’s point? to play with the boundaries of what’s okay and what isn't and how we relate to it all? idk.. but it made me think a lot and even inspired me to write an actual review which i’ve never done for a book and that’s what literature is all about - opening up a dialogue about things people NEED to talk about
