The book is good. It's very intriguing, and basically impossible to put down, however, if you are not initially into it, that's normal. Don't start thinking anything negative about yourself because you don't understand the hype, because, trust me, after the second book in the series: A Court of Mist and Fury, the series becomes both addicting and enjoyable.
