In general this is a small diversion that was worth whatever I got it for on sale at the Nintendo eShop. It's fun playing with objects you're trying to drop, and it's mostly relaxing in the beginning except for when you are trying to move the hole precisely. That was kind of irritating... maybe there's a zoom feature I don't know about?
The storyline is quirky-funny, but the dialogue drags. If you rapidfire the A button through the conversations, you probably won't miss much. The characters (and their situations) are mostly forgettable. At the end when you see all of them I struggled to remember who they were and what stage they represented.
tl;dr? A girl is pissed at her raccoon friend for gathering everyone's belongings underground via a donut hole. Lots of townspeople are inconvenienced by this. The raccoon is kind of a sociopath.
The game lasts only a handful of hours. Thankfully the "simple" part of swallowing up objects ramps up to odd puzzles of the slightly Rube-Goldberg style. Towards the last third/quarter it'll turn into more of an action-puzzler. You won't "die" but having good timing helps. However once you're done the replay value will immediately drop. So enjoy it while it's new!
