For a Beatles fan, this documentary is incredibly well-done and revelatory.
I was astonished and shocked at the level of active disrespect shown to George Harrison by Paul.McCartney and equally astonished by the passive disrespect shown to him by John Lennon. As Peter Jackson says, "the cracks are starting to appear."
It was also astonishing to see the lack of interest on the part of John in any project that The Beatles were attempting at that time. Paul had definitely taken control of the creative direction of the group and frankly was not doing a very good job motivating the other members.
If The Beatles had been really thinking, it would have been the wise move to disband the group after the death of of Brian Epstein. It is painfully obvious that attempting to manage themselves was a terrible move and spelled the beginning of the end of the group. This becomes glaringly apparent during part during part one of this excellent documentary.
