The Bookseller of Inverness is a great read covering the years after Culloden. It is based on rigorous historical research, providing a useful reading list for those who wish to delve deeper into Culloden and the privations which followed. A historical novel, but also a thriller and murder mystery with intrigue aplenty. The characterisation is excellent with people I genuinely cared about. I would welcome a further book on Hector's adventures in Scotland and also on the continent. Perhaps a series? This would also make a great TV series.
