Don't say it's an adaptation of ORV if you're changing THE WHOLE PLOT. With how things work, with how the relationship of characters work; The bond etc. Changing the PURPOSE of characters, No way😭. Leave ORV as it is, It will be difficult to capture the intense action (its nice tho, the problem is the plot) and elements since it is fictional—I say do not make one at all. Wasted money.
