The first half of the movie was great. I was really becoming invested in all of the characters, the acting was really captivating and the suspense had me at the edge of my seat. I was starting to feel really unsettled and was expecting the movie to really scare me. However that unfortunately did not happen- instead the movie went downhill from there. The CGI and demonic voice were so unbelievable and over the top I just couldn't take it seriously. The ending felt rushed and anticlimactic- the mother decides to believe in God because it's her only hope, and so then suddenly everything is okay when she calls on Jesus to cast the denoms away. It just felt unbelievable. There was so much potential for some meaningful character development and some real scares and horror but instead it just felt like I was watching some cheesey Christian propaganda.
