For someone that doesn't review movies often, I'll give this one a shot. Well done movie, lighting and visuals were on point. Great cast for each major character.
*Potential Spoilers*
This movie, or maybe it was the book, really missed an opportunity with the ending in my opinion. It was way too "picture perfect". This scenario was about as ideal for the main character as it gets.
If they could have stepped into the paranoia of "Jeff", played by Miles Teller, while "Steve", played by Chris Hemsworth, was around, and only when he was around, the twist on the end could have had the qualities of a thriller that I really seek.
They could have allowed a lot of questions being asked; Is Steve really a bad guy, or is it Jeff filling in blanks because of the mix of drugs he's on? Is Mark a present character during the intial stages of escape, or is Jeff doing everything and making it up? What things are really happening in their conversations and meetings when nobody else is around? Does anyone else see Steve as a negative character? Maybe there's some memory drug and the end of the story ends with the beginning of the next week?
There was just so much left to be desired at the end, and it doesn't feel like there's much to rewatch with this ending. Everything else was on point.
