The Orville has its moments, but it is running out of steam. Half the time I feel like Seth McFarlane is living his boyhood wish to fill in Star Trek episodes he imagined, but they are often so sophomoric I feel like I’m watching Leave It to Beaver. S2 E11 is (outside of the cigarette bit; very funny) so sweet I’m gagging. More writers please.
