Space Jam A New Legacy is a direct sequel to Ready Player One. It has NO correlation to the original 1996 Space Jam movie. Most of the movie is an ongoing advertisement for WB's character catalogue, and homage to Lebron James, whom WB obviously considers the greatest athlete to have ever existed. Oddly, the movie only mentions Michael Jordan in a passing moment, even though he's ironically a much better athlete and actor. So while WB is calling this a sequel, it's anything but one. Don Cheadle and the special effects are the only reasons this film is remotely watchable. The 1996 original was hardly a cinematic masterpiece, but this one is considerably worse. It's a reboot disguised as a sequel, but a hot mess, totally bereft of humor, that never should have happened.

Microtransaction obsessed, unbalanced, time consuming nightmare of a game. It is so heavily unbalanced towards Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Germany and the US, that it's not worth playing as any other country. You will constantly get obliterated otherwise. Toxic cheaters are rampant and their anti-cheat software is relatively useless. The tech trees are a nightmare to progress through, and every single little detail regarding your vehicles, weapons, and crews needs constant upgrading, none of which is free. This game was designed solely to empty your wallet, and the more you play, the more you'll pay. There are various currencies and points earned throughout the game, but no matter how well you do, you'll ALWAYS find yourself short on them when it comes to purchasing a new vehicle, etc. Vehicle performance seems completely randomized and inconsistent as well: one moment you'll shoot down an enemy without fail, but with your next opponent you won't score a single hit before getting destroyed. Teams are often completely lopsided as well, to the point that if you're on the losing end, it will be a rather painful experience. Gaijin, the game developer, started this game while initially based in Russia. They moved to Hungary after Putin invaded Ukraine, BUT like mentioned previously, the game is so notoriously unbalanced, that it's going to take them years to rebalance everything and make it fair for everyone. The game economy was also so messed up previously that gamers could essentially buy their way quickly towards the top, rather than properly work their way up instead. Gaijin is working on that issue as well after large numbers of gamers began revolting. Regardless, until Gaijin cleans up this convoluted nightmare of their own creation, it should probably be avoided. Their greed has ruined a game that used to be fun. The other negative reviews regarding this game are all absolutely correct, and this is coming from someone with over 150 hrs invested in the game. You've been warned.
