This book is a wonderful way to teach young children about pet safety and pet feelings. I am a Humane Education presenter, on behalf of Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center in Oregon. I make presentations to groups of younger children (3-6 years old) and I believe the importance of teaching kindness, caring and safety around all pets is a priority. Children respond positively to books and visiting small animals, so I take both to every class I visit. I have ordered a few extra "May I Pet Your Dog?" so that the book can be a gift for classrooms.
