This was an incredible movie. One of the best I've seen in a long time. Wahlberg's portrayal of Father Stu was honest and completely relatable. It's a "rags to riches" story with the riches for the eponymous protagonist nothing short of the meaning and purpose of life. His hardscrabble portrayal is never sugar-coated; it just rings true. Mel Gibson is equally excellent. This is not typical Hollywood. This is a spiritual and emotional treasure. It is the most satisfying film out there. 5 stars.

Terrific movie! Beautifully written, beautifully acted. Very emotional. Interesting on many levels. Pathos, romance, humor, drama. The lead young woman is excellent, and she can really sing! And you can't forget the music. All the songs resonated with me and added to the joy of this special film. .
