Clearly made on the cheap for an American daytime tv audience - cliched ‘English’ references, derivative plot and a wooden Megan Markle look-a-like in the lead role.

Though the first series is not too bad, the second is absolutely abysmal. The plot line is totally ridiculous, the script is badly written and childish, and attempts to make it edgy by using the F word in every other sentence shows desperation. The attempt to build tension and jeopardy is embarrassing. To compare it with Famous Five plots would make Enid Blighton groan in her grave.

Very very poor. The woke casting, the appallingly childish dialogue, the wooden acting from the lead and others, the coincidences piled one on top of another (masquerading as plot twists). I have never read a Harlen novel - surely this is not an appropriate reflection of his talent, despite the ludicrous prime plot thread of several people dangling in a barn for days on end simultaneously having their bank accounts ravaged! One star is generous.

Woke rubbish. If you subscribe to critical race theory, juvenile scripts, absurd plot lines, lifts from the novels of Dickens then this is the film for you. If however you expect accurate historical presentation, unencumbered by modern leftist dogma then avoid this awful film like the plague!

Absurd plot! Couple let a complete stranger into their house, allow her to run roughshod over them, when any normal people would have told her to sling her hook as soon as she poked her nose into their business. And the daughter’s acting … well!

Amusing, very like an English crime caper!

One of my favourite films. Duval and Harper are fantastic and the soundtrack is wonderful.

One of the very best police dramas I’ve seen. The acting is superb, but the best part about it is the writing which is unlike the usual clichéd, jargon driven Hollywood mush. Is the writer British? It has that cerebral quality.

Poor script, atrocious acting and pathetically woke!! Don’t bother watching.

This film identifies many of the issues plaguing society around the world, and the inexorable creep of liberal response that fail to address them. Good minimalistic script and strong performances all round.
