The Reluctant Fundamentalist movie adaptation is very different from the book. They have taken some liberties in the adoptation.One significant scene is Erica's exhibition, the treatment Changez receives is so well portrayed that it hurts. It hits you more when you realize the realistic element in it all and how misunderstandings work; it is a new observation, a perspective, and an important perspective to be open to. Another significant scene is when the initiation of Changez leaving his job is turned on him. This is a notable change of the perspective, it makes much difference. How Changez is viewed in his country, in his immigrant country, and in his job, his family - all of it is an important perspective to understand, know about, and be open to. Our very diversity of being human is codified and academized in theory. It undermines our humanity, and this story, in both its novel and film form, has opened me up to a new perspective and, like I said, certainly an important one.

this film is very realist. it doesn't define people by one word. it shows the whole part of a character. its different. makes you think. plus the old Neil and Todd duo made it better for me.
