Ugh! I mean a great, GREAT show! Very disappointed at the lack of a season 4 as it had the potential to be something truly groundbreaking. At times, the show did get to be a bit drab, and a little repetitive, but it does so in just enough of a way to actually add backbone, reinforced with synth tech, to the story. I believe this show was absolutely touching on issues that are certain to be a part of our future. Whether it's true AI, synthetic body parts, consciousness transference, or a hybridization of any of these, this is sure to be the future, and the writers did an EXCELLENT job at envisioning the effects of this technology on society and its philosophical implications.
****The reason for the discontent rests solely in the hands of the higher ups that are in charge of whether or not a show will be continued, or not. Much to my disdain, I just read that there will not be a season 4. And of course it ends on one of the most EPIC cliffhangers possible. It probably would not have bothered me so bad, had I not just finished another series, Manifest, that is equally as good, and ends on a fairly proportional cliff. It seems like all of the shows that really grab me lately end, right as they passed the line between great, and epic. If a show doesn't garner the number of views that the producers want... ADVERTISE it. Nowadays, most everything is just Netflix, Hulu, Prime, or whatever'd. And shy of googling random titles, it's hard to know what's worth the binge and what's not. Seriously, all it takes is one pop up to make someone go, hmm, maybe I'll check it out. Ok, ok, rant done... kind of... idk, still mad haha. ****
