After the TV show I got hyped up and started playing Fallout 4 again. Beat the game with the institute, the brotherhood and then just built amazing towns with Mods. After a couple months I went back to Skyrim and checked out the new Mods.
Then I hear Star Wars is coming out with an open world game!
I didn’t read any reviews (glad I didn’t), and just bought the game. Yes I expected something along the lines of the games I had been playing. What I got was something completely different.
No I don’t have a lightsaber and slash hordes of enemies to lay halved at my feet. No I don’t throw my enemies across the room or take down a group charging with lightning bolts flying out from my fingers.
What you get is a beautiful looking game and a well thought out story. Yes there is sneaking and thought put into how you will progress from one area to the next. Just like the days of Han Solo, not everything always works out and you find yourself in a gun fight.
I’m only two worlds in and each area is different from the last. The presence of stormtroopers is always exciting as you see them shaking down the locals. Each city is filled with hundreds of characters. Many are in conversation that you pick up as you pass by.
I have that feeling I’m always on the run… and it’s a good feeling. Too long have I always been that character that just gets the best weapons and best armor to stand in front of an army coming out unscathed.
I’m glad it’s a different style of game. I am quickly being drawn in and still unsure which crime organization I want to support.
This is a great take on Star Wars from the eyes of crime and not the usual force and light sabers we are all use too. Luke was always a big cry baby anyway, let’s face it, Han was the stud in the Star Wars movies and he didn’t wield a lightsaber.
Update: 20 hours of gameplay in and it keeps getting better.
