Bro, I can’t even I hate this show.
Alex did not need to die, John did not need to die, the couple that helped Alex did not need to die, Pete did not need to die. All that Alex went through seemed pointless with her death. She fought so hard and experienced some of the most vile things a woman can experience, just to die. So much tragedy and far too little enjoyable scenes.
The prostitutes were good at the start to defame Whitfield’s character and show how truly sadistic he was but the scenes following Whitfield’s first foul interaction with the prostitutes became unnecessary and a horrible watch as a female. It was a journey I thought the viewers did not need to go on. I fast forwarded all of those scenes as it left me feeling helpless. I wonder how many men fast forwarded those scenes. Their story was not essential to the plot at all. It was an extremely unnecessary side story. in my interpretation it was a vulgar choice for another’s own personal enjoyment.
It was a hard watch but I will admit it was addictive but only because I was rooting for the love story of Spencer and Alex.
Like it was just too heavy and normally I’m good with the heavy stuff but when your favourite characters are constantly experiencing traumatic events it all becomes too much and too sad. I understand it’s reflection of the times and how it’s important to represent the tough times truthfully but throw your viewers a bone and have at least one happy ending fr.
As a woman this show was immensely disheartening and disempowering. But it made me grateful for my ancestors and everything they did so I could live the life I do and for direct flights. But Spencer would have sent for her if she had just waited. I guess it was for dramatics. I wish I didn’t watch it, however I’m glad I did.
At one point I was only watching it for Brandon sklenar. I’m disappointed in my self.
