Breathlessly exciting and visually stunning from start to finish with all the ingredients of a classic Alien movie and plenty of new tricks to keep fans guessing. The young characters that provide the film's emotional centre are portrayed beautifully by an extremely talented cast. The creatures are as terrifying as you'd expect and they're brought to life with predominantly practical effects. Callbacks to the older movies feel meaningful and satisfying. I loved the focus on the brutality of life under the regime of Weyland Yutani which seems like an apt metaphor for the late stage capitalist nightmare we're in right now. This is the best movie I've seen all year and an absolute shot in the arm for the Alien series.
