Looking at the 5 star reviews to the 1 star reviews, I feel like quite a lot of people missed the actual point they were trying to address. Barbie has always been about 'women power' but this showed how easily we get pushed aside. As a 25 year old woman working in a predominantly male profession, this film actually made me cry (which I do not usually, I swear, even though I'm a woman) but I felt that it brought to light what a lot of women feel within quite a few working areas. I won't lie, I get treated differently, mostly nicer, but I also get overlooked just because I'm a woman in a mans world and I think that was what the film was trying to put across. I don't want to be seen as pretty, young and 'need help' (I appreciate the help but not the way they're doing it) cause I'm more qualified than 90% of my team but because I'm the only woman it just doesn't matter. This film resonated so much with me when Barbie realised what the world was like and tbh how fucked it is and their opinion of women compared to men, it's not easy. Watched this like 5 times now and I always cry cause it always hits the feels.
