My book group discussed News of the World and thought is was excellent. Despite Covid, I had to see the film. Tom Hanks was a perfect choice for the Captain and the young Johanna did an excellent job. The adaptation for the screen highlighted events, painful for us all as compassionate Americans....the lynching of the black man, the cruel relocation of the Native Americans and the disgusting slaughter of the buffalo. A thought provoking and thoroughly worthwhile and enjoyable film.
