I’m genuinely surprised by all the negative reviews, given this film’s careful portrayal of an insidious aspect of contemporary Black life in America. I found Aren to be a very interesting protagonist, with a genuine struggle to be seen that’s evocative of the notion of the Invisible Man. The love story was cute, with a twist that I anticipated but still enjoyed. This was not a perfect film, but I give it 5 stars. Just don’t expect it to end racism lol
