This was a superbly crafted, directed and acted series. The jungle scenes were brutal and at times horrifying, but brilliantly depicted. The juxtaposition with the pre-war scenes couldn't have been more extreme, again brilliantly acted, and beautifully shot. The quality of dramas on the BBC and coming out of Australia, gets better and better.

Implausible story and only occasionally mildly amusing. Barely qualifies for the classification of 'comedy drama' as the humour is painfully weak and there's nothing dramatic about it whatsoever.

Quite amazing to watch and contemplate that such a collection of excellent actors and a very good director could come up with such a poor film. No dramatic tension whatsoever, which is usually the fault of direction or editing, but the main fault was the screenplay which was often ridiculous and undermined the credibility of the characters.

Absolutely dreadful. Hardly laughed at all, in fact quite depressing to watch. A million miles from the genius of the original.
