1883 is amazing. I laughed, cried, learned, felt deeply and wondered in amazement. Amazing cast. Faith Hill and Tim McGraw didn't disappoint but Isabel May is a revelation. She was good in her big break of Alexa and Katie but this performance will make her a star. Every actors' performance was believable and compelling. The cinematography was devastatingly beautiful and you felt like you were there with them. My only criticism is that it left me wanting more! This has convinced me to watch its companion Yellowstone. I sure hope I can one day get 1923, too.

I love a good revenge movie but this was much more than that. It took my breath away, particularly at the end and was not just an easy commentary on bad people vs. the underdog. It makes a statement that will stick with me for a long time. Loved Carrie Mulligan. Incredible performance and frankly, a brave one. Brava!
