Genuinely, I love Destiny as a franchise, it’s lore, gameplay, and everything thus far. I would give lightfall a 3.7, not 4, and here’s why. Like many are saying, the gameplay is fantastic, but the story is lacking. Now many “plot holes”, or inconsistencies that I’ve seen talked about on Reddit, are, well false. I’ve ran through the campaign twice, and discovered the answers to the “inconsistencies”. I understand that light fall is meant to be a bridge-dlc, onward to the final shape, but I still understand its backlash. Its story may seem more action than development, but realistically, it’s possibly the end in the eyes of some of the characters. Now, Osiris and Nimbus weren’t written bad at all. The only problems I see with the story, is that there’s not enough. If Nimbus wasn’t constantly being negligent to seriousness, he wouldn’t seem like a person, and the game would have too serious of a tone; at least for now, it shouldn’t have all despair. Same for Osiris and his impatience and overran hurt-behavior. I’m trying to avoid too many spoilers, but lightfall was meant, and stated as an action type dlc, and as a bridge onward. However I do believe they could’ve touched up on the story a bit more. Overall, get light fall if you plan to continue playing Destiny. It’s the only way to get the new subclass, and other features. I understand everyone has their own opinions, and I am not opposing any. I liked lightfall, and I hope others can too. For their sake.
