As a massive fan of Season 1 and the original game, I had high hopes for Season 2. Sadly, this season is a masterclass in how to alienate your audience. The pacing is disjointed, the narrative choices are baffling, and beloved characters are either sidelined or completely mishandled. The shocking twist early on isn't just bold — it's needlessly brutal and strips the show of its emotional core. From there, the story spirals into a bleak, revenge-driven mess that lacks the heart, hope, and connection that made Season 1 so special. New characters are introduced with little development or time to care about them, and Ellie’s arc, instead of being powerful, feels forced and unearned. The dual timeline structure may have worked for the game, but here it just drags the story into confusion and fatigue. Visually it’s still impressive, and the performances are committed, but great acting can't save a story this broken. It's clear the showrunners are more interested in shock value than thoughtful storytelling. I wanted to love this season. Instead, I’m left wondering how they got it so wrong.
