Ive been a solid Battlefield series player for 10 years now, and I was looking for an alternative when my interest was waning on the series (too boring, not challenging enough at this point, I could be top 5 in every game I played routinely). Apex seems to fit the bill perfectly. Compared to Fortnight PUBG and Warzone, Apex has a variety of characters that offer unique enough skills to differentiate themselves during game play. Fortnight as a third person with had way to much "hopping around" and the building abilities are just annoying, the mechanics are so sloppy (bullet drop etc..) and the avg player is age 12. Warzone is too slow and characters are not differentiated. It plays too "snipey" and, although it is the most realistic of the bunch, just too boring. Apex trios is the perfect blend in my opinion, allowing you to have squadmates, communicate effectively, revive and respawn squad mates and more. The mechanics are very good, and although it is definitely geared more towards an arcade style system (fast movements, sliding and jumping), seems fair enough. There is an enormous difference between players you will encounter in the game - from absolute novices and professional gamers is wide. Overall I recommend it for someone looking for a competitive game
