This movie is loud, but not in an auditory way. There is so much going on at any given second of the movie. Separate stories about a single person's different lives throughout different dimensions, all related to one central story, are woven expertly through one another. Like a beautifully choreographed dance, these scenes never interfere with one another, but serve to accentuate the action-packed main story, which ends masterfully as the multi-dimensional madness is resolved offscreen, which manages to not only make sense but be the best storytelling choice in a movie like this. 100% worth a watch, and also a rewatch. A transcendent experience that is easily in my top 10.

Because of the Switch's high processing power relative to Nintendo's past consoles, the developers made the map ridiculously massive. Each one of the game's 6 or 7 areas is about as big as the ENTIRE MAP in other 2D Metroid games, and in my opinion, that causes many issues. To prevent the player from getting lost in such a huge map, the developers shoved one-way paths ALL OVER the world. This means that the amount of the world you can access at any one time is always restricted, which means it'll only ever take a couple minutes to stumble upon the place you need to be. Open, self-guided exploration and down-time to collect upgrades becomes a thing of the past. I felt pretty disappointed with this one.

The mood, the characters, the music, the repeating 3-day cycle - all this and more makes Majora's Mask feel like a dream, like a surreal experience. This game shows a side of the series never seen before or since.

This game has one of the best character relationships/dynamics in video game history. I still find myself thinking about the resonance of the story of Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth.
