Negative reviews are off base. This is not merely about sport but about divisions in socio-economic class, and is a wonderful story, well written, beautifully filmed, well acted.

Lush period piece, interesting time period, very human characters with human weaknesses instead of stock villains v good guys. Wonderful capture of Dutch streets, society, life at this time.
