I love this series. It's tries to offer balance of reality with community, friendship, family, faith and work. Kinda "hallmarky" with black and gay people, real marriage &family issues and some margaritas mixed in! One thing I don't understand; why is Maddie's little girl seldom with her Mother? Why exclude the mother/daughter relationship. She's in family scenes, brother and grandmother time, but Maddie is all about her boys and doesn't seem to do life with her little girl. This bugs me because I was a single Mom with 2 teenage boys and a little girl. She was glued to my side! Just wondering.
