Very readable, lots of new information I didn't know although I am an avid reader and learner in all things dog related since I became the owner of a very traumatised rescue lurcher - it has been a sometimes difficult journal but with patience, diligence and a lot of walking we have become a truly connected pair. My greatest 'reward' when in the absence of stairs and/or lift he followed me without hesitation onto the escalator....he had learned to trust me to not let any harm come to him - what more could you wish for? And after nine years he now even goes voluntarily to say hello to other dogs. Never believe old dogs cannot learn new tricks,!!!! And never give up - if you have in them the rewards for both sides are enormous. But I strongly believe that a dog owner needs to learn and understand about a dog's cognition and how they perceive the world.
