Just finished Season 3 and I really enjoyed it. Reading reviews prior I did cover up the screen for most of the actual murders as the consensus was they were very brutal. I liked the variety of characters and the different issues some of them had, be it being Muslim, gay, asexual. It provided some dimension to the characters and sub plots alongside the main one. Yes, it's full of plot holes and illogical actions by characters, but if you accept it for what it is, it's really good.

I just can't stand how the lead female character allows everyone to speak to her with such disdain, contempt and rudeness. I started watching Season 2 and remember now why I stopped watching Season 1. The solicitor for the sex offender tells her "you took your time" and she apologises to the sex offender because he got punched, which wasn't her fault anyway. Why not say to both of them "a woman has just been brutally murdered and her child is missing". Her new boss, 'Fat Elaine', she doesn't assert herself with anyone. Even the lady in the shop that approached her, she couldn't tell her with any conviction "I shouldn't be talking to you". Ended up taking her phone number! She's so pathetic I had to stop watching. Apart from that it's probably quite a good show.

I got more confused and less interested as the episodes went on. A bunch of bitter, mostly unlikeable people hung up on something that happened almost forty years ago in their time (1984 - 2022). Why the obsession over an undercover cop who stayed on??? All that person did was name the people who weren't in the pub when the fire was started. Which was their job! And the weird, moronic father who kills his daughter-in-law. OMG. I couldn't stand to look at him in the end for all his blinking, face scrunching stupidity. If he wanted to be caught by the Police, then why not phone the Police instead of leaving a message on his own answering machine? Definitely one, if not two, episodes too long.

26 mins and 29 seconds in and I had to stop to read the reviews to make sure I wasn't going mad and it really is as bad as I suspected but was too incredulous to believe. Second star is because the reviews have made me cry-laugh. The script, story and characters are awful. I'm in Australia so don't know what's going on with the BBC, but it seems like a total train wreck (pun intended)

I loved it. I thought Thelma & Louise, Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Natural Born Killers. I loved the crackling sound when Jackie was getting mad and the veins popped in her skin. I loved that she avenged Lou and Lou's sister in that way. It was a fist pump from me. I think if it was a male that did it, there would be less talk of 'the violence' because that's considered normal. Similarly, if all the sex scenes were heterosexual but equally as explicit, it wouldn't get a mention. I do agree with another reviewer that the bathroom sex scene felt weird. I didn't understand or like everything about the movie but I do know I still loved it.

20 minutes in and I had to Google this movie to see if it's a spoof of a sci-fi movie. It's so ridiculous. The dialogue is diabolical. Good to know that even in 2071, a woman's relationship status is still important in the workplace. "She can't keep a relationship" says one male colleague to another, when discussing if she is suitable for a job. Wow! Still love Jennifer Lopez though.

I liked it less as the movie went on. Really disliked the house owner's daughter, right from the get go. Not sure if we were supposed to. She was so rude, yet nobody called her out on it. Then Julia Roberts apologies for the way she treated them? Why? Two strangers rock up in the middle of the night and he was acting weird. I thought perhaps the movie was making a statement about our reliance on technology? Then I thought it was about how we're destroying the environment. Then I thought it was about the US's position in geo-politics. It was definitely too long. Still kind of interesting though.
