Like Jared Diamond, Fukuyama et al are running with some nice intuition they had ... but their best contribution is tautological. The West won because they are on top now in some areas. What does Covid-19 say about 4000,000 deaths in USA by end of 2020, and 25 millions (Infected, at minimum) by Corona Virus (Covid-19) at the start of 2021? And January 6th insurrection called for by demagogue and white-supremacist Trump who lost the 2020 presidential elections? The West is still tribal; they practice democracy only for capitalism's sake, and when their group/tribe loses, democracy goes into the drains of the West. That is why ISRAEL will never trust Western nations, or rely on their "protection and promises." shalom, shalom!
