Takes a lot to totally blow me away and my God have they succeeded in that. I've never seen animation like it, true artistry in every composed sequence, images rendered so flawlessly they attain the illusion of actual depth. The story too is no slouch, not too complex to follow but with enough layers, history and well defined characters to keep you engaged at all times. The music is thumping stuff, gives a soul to some sequences that makes them hit harder than you would expect from an animated show but this is far from any ordinary animated production, its pure excellence!

Five episodes of pure animated PIXAR genius of a standard only the old masters like Tex Avery and Hanna Barbera could possibly match. You'll long for more but the recent passing of Ed Asner would question venturing any further without the legendary actor's contribution that absolutely embodies the character of Carl Fredricksen. Regardless, these final performances will forever be a tribute to him and the pleasure they'll continue to bring to generations to come. What a wonderful legacy, RIP Ed.
