This is not a film but a poor imitation of theater, boring plot, affected acting.

I had high expections for this series, having enjoyed the stranger, into the woods, and other Coben series. The first few episodes are very catchy but ultimately the plot doesn't hold. The detective becomes ridiculous with his pills and we never find out why he is taking them to begin with or why he gets money from the rich family. Shane appears suspicious occasionally but it's a red herring without explanation again. So many of the subplots are unnecessary. I feel nostalgic for a good Agatha Christie.

This movie is brilliantly acted and thought out. Every little gesture, word, and scene has its perfect place. A powerful aesthetic experience.

I have seen it multiple times, it never gets old and puts me in a good mood. So clever, elegant, brilliantly acted.
