SPOILER ALERT ///////////
I have a thing for feel-good movies, and "The Intern" is a gem that perfectly fits the bill. This film provides a happy yet realistic portrayal of Ben's life. Ben, played by Robert De Niro, is calm and composed, always keeping himself busy. He's dating someone but still deeply misses his late wife, a sentiment that brings him to tears at times. Ben's efforts to connect with the younger employees at his new office are heartwarming and successful. He seizes every opportunity that comes his way, and his character is truly admirable.
Anne Hathaway's portrayal of Jules offers valuable lessons. She prioritizes wisely and takes her time before making decisions. Her handling of the situation when she discovers her husband's infidelity is nothing short of impressive. Unlike the dramatic reactions often seen in movies, Jules remains composed, doesn't yell or create a scene. Instead, she waits patiently for her husband, Matt, to come clean, all while maintaining a facade of normalcy at work. Her professionalism and resilience are inspiring—she truly is a boss.
The supporting characters add vibrant energy to the film. Ben's date with the masseuse is adorable, and the young actress playing Paige is an absolute delight. At just five years old, she delivers a charming performance with her cute smile and sparkling eyes. She is gentle and endearing, making you want to hug her.
Overall, I loved "The Intern." It's a heartwarming movie that I would personally rate 5 stars.
