mmmmm yeah no (spoilers) I absolutely loved the first orphan but I definitely can say confidently they should of left it at one. I know orphan as a movie hit its peak only a few years ago evan with it coming out over 10 years ago witch should of been a huge sign that making a second movie that takes place before the first is kinda dumb. obviously the actor who played Esther is much much older now and 26 year old women playing a 9 year old was personally very unsettling... she looked nothing like a child, they did a good job making her look younger but definitely not 9 year old type of young. and I mean the overall acting was just kinda bad, with all the actors. the plot twist was good i'll give the writers that but they don't give any content on anything with it, no depth! like why the mom was so obsessed with this idea of being a "perfect" family and how the real Esther actually died! they say the brother (gunner) accidently killed her playing too rough and that's all they covered it up ,all over a briff 10 min sean! as a viewer i wanted to see more on OG Esther's like who she was, how she died, how the mom covered it up, ect. like I get they tried to show us Esther's back story before the first move like how she got here but her backstory was no mystery we knew who she was before because they explained it in the first movie! there was just so much they did not cover and so much that was pushed to long. like when the mom walked into the bathroom before confronting on knowing who "esther was" we see her walking into the bathroom full of steam and gasp but we are never show what she sees that makes her gasp. and the end of the movie where we are shown "esther" and the dad on the roof where "esther" pulls out her teeth to show who she really is and all in 30 seconds he magecily knows what she is before falling off the roof. it was very rushed and very dry. i really tried to force myself to like this movie based on how much I liked the first one but just couldn't. this whole movie was obviously a HUGE money grab and just overall stupid and not worth it.
