Good twist, didn't expect it. But the main character, Pip, literally risks her own murder and possible arrest for breaking and entering. She has the audacity to follow people and break into their homes just for a school project. And then she's chewing out the bad guys.. go off I guess? The entire time reading this book I was internally hollering at Pip to not be herself. Spoiler: When her dog dies is when she FINALLY gets the hint, "Hey, maybe this is dangerous." Poor Cassie. Her mom died, older sister was constantly interrogated by her best friend, then her father is arrested.
