It was entertaining and cute if that's what you want. But it's definitely not the thought provoking or the haunting type like the kind of girl who leapt through time or spirited away or wolf children. I think they could have made better use of the concept . I like withering away more than this and let me tell you I did'nt like withering away that much. It was a let down by makoto shinkai. To sum it up it's a commercial film that tried to appeal universally ( therefore shallow) but fails to make a point even if it's about teen love. Well.. atleast the cat was pretty.

Great concept. A beautiful movie. However, I wish the main character would not leave the demon world behind. He could have been a God. But he choose to be a Normal student.
