Absolutely charming. The slow pace and lowkey presentation mean that you will not realise how deeply this film is moving you until the end.
Bhutan is not an easy country to travel to, but you can visit its beatiful mountainous areas through this film. It reminded me a lot of treking in the Himalyas in Nepal, where warm hearted people live with minimal material comforts in a stunningly beautiful but harsh environment. The authenticity of the film is created by the fact that most of the actors are local people including wonderful performances from the children. The director and crew loaded 65 mules with cameras, solar panels, batteries, lights, and sound equipment for the eight-day trek up the mountains to Lunana. We are lucky that thair efforts have brought remote mountain life to us.
