Didn’t think I was going to like this book as found the style of writing hard going.0 However once I got used to it I was smitten! The attention to detail and descriptions of Tudor times is superb and having worked in Stratford I was there, picturing the family going about their business. Agnes came alive and the love for her children palpable! A clever idea but I found it all rather depressing and I felt the story needed a little light against all the darkness! Very clever that the father is never mentioned in name! I now need to read Hamlet again!
