Disney needs to figure something out with their writers. All their tv shows, movies… it’s all the same. The plots are convoluted, lacking characters that you actually care about. And just generally confusing. You can tell they definitely did a mad libs of all the general plot points they wanted. Then threw it some junky ai software to pump out a plot that hits all of them. It feels twisted, disorganized and utterly meaningless. With a fun throwback to the original movie being the only enjoyable part of the movie. But overall this movie does an excellent job of not making you care about anything the whole way through. And aside from the brief appearance of “the dude” the entire movie is completely disconnected from the original and legacy. With virtually no connection to the stories of either in any meaningful way.

Gone back 5 times to rewatch to pick out the technical aspects of it, and it’s so well assembled you just sink into it and the technical aspects are almost completely invisible they’re so well and carefully done. One thing I am still so impressed and shocked by is the use of shallow depth of field. Almost the entire movie is extremely shallow in focus range, but it works so well you don’t even notice it. Hands down the best movie to hit the big screens in years. More of this!

The first 10 minutes of film making in this movie are so atrocious that I couldn’t continue 🤣. Nearly every basic rule of elementary camera angles is broken which makes it nearly impossible to tell what the hell is happening which makes it incredibly irritating to try and understand what you’re even being shown. Idk if they were going for artistic but it just came out as jumbled chaotic garbage.
